Super Bead Filter
The Superbead filter is the first bead filter that you can use in both the pump version and the gravity version. This sets it apart from many other filtration systems. If you want to enlarge your pond or convert it from pump to gravity, then you do not need to replace the filter, but can easily retrofit with just a few additions. Superbead filters are ideal for swimming ponds.
Advantages of the Superbead Filter
• Suitable for energy-saving pumps
• No additional air pumps (Blower)
• Low energy consumption
• Removes dirt larger than 20 microns
Use of the filter as pump version
Due to the special nature, you can use the Superbead filters even if you have no gravity system. This is possible with the Superbead small up to 10 m³ and with the Superbead large up to 15 m³. To operate, use a normal pond pump (small: approx. 13000 liters / hour - large: 16000 - 20000 liters / hour), connect the bead filter with a UVC unit, and the whole filter unit is ready. Due to the increased dirt in the filter, you must ensure that the inside slotted pipe is cleaned several times a year. Otherwise, there will be no additional cleaning next to the normal flushing process.
Use of the filter as gravity version
If you want to convert an existing pond into one with gravity, then normally the pond gets bigger and a new filter system is necessary. This is not necessary with the already existing Superbead Filter. Connect your floor drains and skimmers to a new slotted screen and then use the existing supersieve as a filter. In this combination, the Superbead small is then suitable for 25 m³ and the Superbead large for 50 m³.
pump version
With the Superbead small you acquire a filter that is best suited for ponds up to 10m³. The low energy requirement (no additional blower for operation) characterizes this filter. It consumes little rinse water (about 150 liters) per rinse and is very easy to clean (turn off and drain pump). The beads retain any dirt larger than 20 microns and this dirt is automatically removed when rinsing.
The best way to operate this filter is to use a pump with 13000 liters / hour, the maximum flow rate is 14m³ / hour.
The connections of the filter are: input 90 mm (must be reduced to tube size). Output 63 mm (must be reduced to the flow of the UVC lamp)
Gravity Version
If you want to use the Superbead small as a gravity filter, then you have to use a slotted screen. This is connected directly to the floor drain and surface skimmer. Thereafter, a dry-mounted pump is installed. It pumps the water through the filter into the pond. We can reach a maximum water flow of 14 m³ in gravity. With this filter you have the option of using dry-mounted pumps:
