Pool filter media
When purchasing a pool for the home garden or for the house, it is quickly obvious that it is not done, to connect a filter system, to operate and run it. The filter system must be suitably dimensioned on the one hand, and regularly maintained on the other hand. Filter media also always belong to a filter system. There are various differences as well as advantages and disadvantages. In principle, experts are recommended to carry out a backwash at least once a week.
Activated filter glass
This is a fairly new filter medium, which is known for more effective filtration. Activated filter glass is obtained from industrial recycled glass, such as from the blending of a window production or the like. Talk about broken glass activated in a special process. The activation process prevents the formation of a biofilm, so these filter media are considered to be very effective, durable and reliable. Activated filter glass remain completely unconsidered for several years in the filter vessel.
Pool filter sand
These classic filter media are certainly the most popular, which are often used in small filter systems, but they are very reliable in fulfilling their tasks. However, it is possible that tiny cracks form in the sand grain of the filter sand, for example, which form a popular foodstuff for bacteria. This results in a germination that can only be remedied with copious chemistry. It is therefore strongly advised to replace the filter sand once a year.
Pebble gur
Pebble-gur is a filter medium which is used for so-called precoat filters. It is a fine-grained filter material with a good filtration effect. However, these filter media are said to have a lack of depth. However, prior to disposal via the conventional sewage system, it is essential to ask the competent authority whether this is possible without any reservations.
