With the Anderson pool leak analyzer LZ400 you can quickly determine if a pool is losing water and also how much water it is losing. This highly sensitive device measures water level changes to within 10,000ths of an inch and tracks these changes in real time on a digital chart. By looking at this real-time data, you can identify leaks in just 5-10 minutes. In fact, the Anderson LZ400 pool leak analyzer is so sensitive that less than a gallon of water loss from a 20 foot. x 40ft. Pool is easily indicated.

 

During a test, the graph screen on the handheld plots real-time water level changes against a manually entered evaporation reference line, which is the downward-sloping dashed line. In this case, the chart shows a water loss of 3/4 gallon of water from an 800 square foot pool over 8 minutes and 30 seconds. The evaporation line represents a loss of 0.125 inches/day. Because the solid line is decreasing faster than evaporation, this test indicates a leak in the pool.

 

The Anderson LZ400 Pool Leak Analyzer also provides a calculation of how this graphed water level change would affect the pool in inches and gallons of water loss per hour or per day. Metric calculations are also available. The “leak” amount is calculated by subtracting the estimated amount of evaporation from the total measured water loss.
