Kujaku
Kujaku - the koi with a special name
The Kujaku impresses above all with its metallic colouring and the associated shine of the individual colour segments. But the somewhat amusing translation of its name, namely "turkey", also sticks in the memory. The story is based on the discoverer of the Kujaku variant. The colouring of the koi reminded him of a turkey, which is how it got its name. It also took some time before the Kujaku was recognised as a class of its own, since 1994 to be precise. The metallic effect of its skin in particular, which is very pronounced, makes the Kujaku a popular koi.
The ideal colour pattern of a Kujaku
In Koi circles, a Kujaku is described as particularly noble if it has the ideal colour pattern, which is of great importance for competitions etc.: a skin that is as pure white as possible with a metallic sheen, a red pattern on the head with sharp contrast and clear lines and the scales as a black-coloured net pattern. This pattern can be coloured in different variations, light grey, dark grey and black, whereby the optimum colour should be a light grey. It is then a particularly noble and popular animal. BB Handel has therefore put together a large selection of different colour variants of the Kujaku family for you so that you can find your favourite.
