Hikarimuji - shiny and splendid

The Hikarimuji is from the genus of the single-coloured koi carp. However, this subspecies should not be categorised as boring, quite the opposite. Hikarimuji impress with their particularly shiny and splendid colouring. The meaning of the name also contributes significantly to the fact that this koi carp is popular and can often be found in ponds. Hikari means nothing other than "metallic" and Muji can be translated as "single-coloured". In connoisseur circles, the definition "light without pattern" is also common. Hikarmuji is available in different variations: The yellow Hikarmuji is traded as "Yamabuki Ogon", the white one as "Purachina Ogon", the grey one as "Nazu Ogon", the orange one as "Orenji Ogon" and the golden one as "Mukashi Ogon". Crossbreeding with other species has resulted in a few more varieties, the most interesting of which is certainly the "Gin Matsuba", which has a pinecone-like pattern.
