CO2 fertilisation

Aquarium CO2 fertilisation - lush plant growth and healthy fish

Every aquarist who has been involved in aquaristics for a long time and is therefore considered an expert knows that CO2 fertilisation is of great importance for an aquarium. The growth of the plants is promoted and supported many times over, which in turn is of great benefit to the fish. In nature, CO2 is produced in the mostly muddy layer of the substrate. All plant species need carbon dioxide, i.e. CO2, to live and grow. Together with light and water, plants ultimately produce their most important energy source, namely sugar. The bottom line is that oxygen is the component that plants produce through the process of photosynthesis.

Aquarium CO2 fertilisation - many advantages

Regular CO2 fertilisation offers many other benefits apart from promoting growth. CO2 is virtually dissolved in the water as carbonic acid, which is particularly valuable for optimising the pH value. Fish tend to prefer acidic water because this property is more pleasant for the fish skin, for example. In addition, CO2 fertilisation successfully reduces algae growth and at the same time prevents unsightly limescale deposits on the leaves. BB Handel therefore has a selection of different products in the CO2 fertilisation category and is happy to make a corresponding recommendation if required. The plants and fish in your aquarium will thank you and reward you with beautiful growth and lively activity.
